The Challenge
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport wanted to test whether it could locate people inside the airport in real time, as an input for wayfinding, wait times at gates and concessions, restroom servicing, and location-based passenger communication.
The Solution
In 2021 Ariadne ran a location-based services evaluation for DFW under a statement of work. Ariadne's sensors were set up in the airport's headquarters building, positioning was tested with volunteers moving through the space, and installation, data flow, and architecture were documented for DFW's team.
The Impact
DFW received a tested reference for real-time people location in its own building, with a preliminary report in August 2021 and a final report after it.
