The Challenge
The Braunschweig Christmas market around the cathedral and Burgplatz is one of the city's biggest events. Braunschweig Stadtmarketing wanted reliable visitor numbers for the whole market, day by day, to plan the next edition and to report to its partners.
The Solution
Ariadne sensors were installed around the market squares for the market season, 23 of them in 2024, with visitors per square and per hour in Ariadne Analytics, without cameras.
The Results
In 2025 the market drew about 1.32 million visits, 5.5% more than in 2024, an average of about 43,900 a day. The busiest day was November 29, 2025, with about 59,200 visits. In 2024 the market had drawn about 1.26 million visits.
