The Challenge
Neu-Isenburg's Smart City department wanted hard frequency data for its pedestrian zone: how many people come, when, how long they stay, and how they move between areas, as a basis for city-center decisions.
The Solution
Since mid-2025, eight Ariadne measuring points have covered the pedestrian zone, delivering unique visitors per day and hour, dwell times, and walking structures between areas, without cameras and without capturing anything personal.
The Impact
The city gets a continuous baseline for its center instead of occasional manual counts. The agreement also explicitly allows Neu-Isenburg to publish the results on its own open-data portal, turning the pedestrian zone's numbers into a public resource.
